Reading News

Hello Parents, Guardians, Families, and Friends,
Welcome back to another school year full of reading and writing activities.
We have had a great reading and writing spirit week for the past few days, and I would like to thank parents, families, and friends for helping our students out with this. I would also like to thank our guest readers....Sandie Butler, Jennifer Berie, Chelsea Nohle, Amy Fiedler-Horack, Ryan Tastor, and Carol Barkley for coming and reading to our students. There are others as well that I know came in to read and I thank the members of our community for your support as well.
It has been a quick month of September, and I am looking forward to the fall, some cooler temperatures, the turning of leaves, and more fantastic fun in reading and writing.
Please let me know by email or phone call if you have any concerns on the program or your student is not sure of why they are working with me. I am open to meeting with any parent/guardian at any time.
Thank you again for your support, and here are some upcoming dates and information from the Reading Department.
  • The Summer Reading Party for those students who qualify will be on WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 3, 2018 from 2:30-3:15. Parent pickup is at 3, and those who ride the late bus will leave around 3:20 on the bus. Thank you to those who participate this year.
  • PARP will not be until March 2019 this year. Our theme is Pop Open A Good Book. The week before PARP begins we will celebrate with a Dr. Seuss week--February 25-March 1. We will have a schedule of days and activities as the time gets closer.
  • PARP will start on March 1 and end on March 29. PARP calendars will be due on April 5 and prizes will be handed out on April 10.
