ELA - Mrs. Esposito

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Esposito

Welcome to my webpage!

Grade 8 ELA Practice: https://ny.nextera.questarai.com/tds/#practice

About My Classroom:
My classroom is student-centered. Student-centered learning aims to develop learner autonomy and independence by putting responsibility for the learning path in the hands of students. Therefore, it is my job to provide students with the opportunity to attain knowledge for themselves. For example, students will often work with their peers to scour through documents that contain vital pieces of information. In addition, they will analyze models of the skills they need and learn how to replicate them.

EFFORT BASED GRADING:
Since a student-learning environment requires that students work effectively during class time, most grades will be based on work completed in class. Therefore, it is important that students work diligently on all in-class assignments as well as out-of-class assignments.

My Goal:
It is important that learning becomes more important than grading. Thus, I have developed a grading system that takes the emphasis away from grading and puts it on improving skills. Please open the document below to view how this grading system works.
