Rachel’s Challenge Meeting

|
SHCS Friends, As you may recall, our school district was fortunate to have had the program, “Rachel’s Challenge” brought to our school community during the spring of 2009. Our school district has since built our character education program around the basic tenants of the Rachel’s Challenge Program. For instance, our school focuses each month on specific virtues and messages including kindness, compassion, acceptance, influence, citizenship and self-respect. Teachers develop their lesson plans and implement activities in accordance with these themes. Interested community members and SHCS faculty and staff are interested in the continued promotion of these wonderful messages and would like to invite you to attend a brainstorming session on March 30th at 7:00 pm. A second meeting with SHCS students to gather their feedback will occur prior to April Break. Ultimately, we hope to devise a list of possible activities involving students, faculty and staff, as well as community members. If you have any questions, feel free to call Mr. Tastor or Ms. Gaffney at 646-3575. We hope that you will be able to join us!
Sincerely,
The SHCS Character Education Committee
