School and Community Description

The Sackets Harbor Central School District services a small, rural community in upstate New York, one hour north of Syracuse and fifteen minutes west of Watertown located on the shores of Lake Ontario. Our School District has been rated as one of the most highly performing educational institutions in the North Country by The Business First Journal. All students in this school district are educated in one PK-12 building. The school district encompasses students from the Village of Sackets Harbor, the outlying Town of Hounsfield, and a small portion of the Town of Adams. The Village of Sackets Harbor itself is known for the important role it played in the defense of the northern frontier during the War of 1812. Today the Village is a summer tourist attraction known for its fine restaurants and boating.
