Dear Sackets Harbor Families,

I hope you all enjoyed your Winter break.  The school year seems to be flying by. As you know Finnegan, our therapy dog, is officially on board here at Sackets Harbor. He is already hard at work and the kids are loving him! Thank you Coach Kleiboer for all of your hard work with Finnegan to make this a reality for our school.

NYS 3-8 ELA and Math testing is just around the corner.  Students will be taking the NYS ELA assessments Wednesday, March 25th through Friday, March 27th.  The NYS Math assessments are scheduled for Tuesday, April 21st through Thursday, April 23rd. More information and the specific dates your child will be taking these assessments will be coming home soon.  Please make every effort to have your child in school on these dates. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

Many students continue to battle illness such as the flu, the stomach bug and strep.  All of these are highly contagious and our custodial staff does an amazing job to sanitize our classrooms.  This is just a reminder that your child needs to be fever free and not thrown up for 24 hours without medication before they can return to school.  If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to contact our school nurse Jennifer Rowell. It is also a good idea to wash and sanitize outdoor gear, backpacks, lunch boxes and water bottles on a regular basis.  Thank you for your help with this.

As always if you have any questions or concerns about anything please do not hesitate to contact me.  My door is always open.

Your partner in education,

Amy Fiedler-Horack
